About GEO Coffee and Tours

Developing a sustainable future for The Little Mountain School and the people of its community.

Hello GEO Supporters!

GEO Coffee and Tours is all about funding The Little Mountain School in Joya Honda, Palencia, Guatemala.

The primary source of funding for The Little Mountain School has been donations and grants given through Guatemalan Educational Outreach, Inc. (GEO), a 501C(3) charitable organization. But for sustainability, Fr. Miguel Alvizures saw a need for an additional source of continuing revenue for the school. A recommendation was made to develop a coffee plantation in Guatemala and sell the coffee in the United States. A group, mainly from Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary church in Lexington, KY, went on a pilgrimage to Guatemala in the fall of 2021. They were touched by the dedication of the students and teachers. Upon returning, they decided to form a group to sell Fr. Miguel’s “Little Mountain Coffee” at Mary Queen. The pilgrimage also sparked another idea: tourism showcasing Guatemala and The Little Mountain School.

And so, here we are: GEO Coffee and Tours. GEO itself does not operate a coffee company in Guatemala. Nor does GEO provide tours to Guatemala. But GEO does maintain a cooperative relationship with those who do provide those services. As a result, all profits from coffee sales and tours go to support The Little Mountain School.
